Lydotta M. Taylor

Lydotta M. Taylor, Ed.D. is the President & CEO of The EdVenture Group, an education-based organization that provides consulting, curriculum development and professional development services for individuals, leaders, educators, and businesses.   As the founder of The EdVenture Group, Taylor has had a positive and sustaining impact on education and business systems across numerous states where the group is actively engaged in a number of projects. 

Dr. Taylor specializes in change management and leadership programs for education and business.  Taylor’s co-authored book, which focuses on change management for education, was released in May 2011. She serves as a national facilitator for The Partnership for 21st Century Skills, an organization that promotes 21st century readiness for education, and will serve as a chairperson for the International Society for Technology in Education Conference in 2011.  Taylor’s true passion is teaching, helping others, and sharing knowledge and successes with the business and education community.  Taylor is currently an adjunct professor for the West Virginia University Leadership Studies program, a position she has held for the last three years. 

Dr. Taylor’s notable accomplishments include the attainment of over $15 million in competitive grants from a variety of federal, state, and private foundations.  These projects are the result of ongoing partnerships and programs developed under her leadership that benefit students, teachers, school leadership, and the community.  Taylor’s ability to leverage resources and connect partners across industry has earned her notable awards and provided opportunities to serve in various board positions in the community.   She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Leadership West Virginia, the WVU College of Engineering and Mineral Resources Visiting Committee, the WVU College of Human Resources and Education Visiting Committee, and the Student Affairs Visiting Committee. 

Taylor began her career as a math and computer science teacher at the secondary level and as the Instructional Technology Coordinator for the Monongalia County school system.  She holds a master’s degree in Secondary Education from West Virginia University where she specialized in Math, Computer Science and Education Technology.   Prior to founding The EdVenture Group, Taylor served as Vice President for Workforce and Education at the West Virginia High Technology Consortium (WVHTC) Foundation.  She completed the Advanced Management Program at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business Executive Education in September 1999 and received The Life Success Consulting and Coaching certification in March 2008. Taylor received her Doctorate of Education in Curriculum & Instruction from West Virginia University in 2011.
