Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Ed?
Sorry, there is no Ed. Our name, The EdVenture Group was born during a brain storming session of our staff. We wanted to convey that we are educators (Ed) and that we were creating an exciting adventure for ourselves and our future clients (Venture.) Hence, The EdVenture Group was born.
What do you do?
We provide all types of educational services. Professional development, consulting, one-on-one coaching, and curriculum development make up the majority of the services we provide to the education and business community. Our staff is available for onsite training, consulting and key note presentations.
I’m a business, not a school so your classes aren’t for me right?
Absolutely not! We have courses on change management, leadership, generational differences and other topics that apply to all people either businesses or schools. Let us know what your business is and we will customize the course just for you.
Do you provide grants or scholarship?
No, The EdVenture Group operates primarily on grant funding. Although as part of many grants, participants are offered stipends for the completion of certain requirements, we do not provide scholarships or grants to schools or individuals.
Do I have to have a computer to take your online courses?
You do need a computer to register for and participate in online courses. You will also need access to the internet and some software that you can download for free depending on the course you take. Be sure to check the course descriptions for more details.
I don’t have computers for all my students, so how can your classes help me?
For our technology based projects, you only need a single computer that the teacher can use or share with the students. Many of our face-to-face courses also focus on skills such as school leadership and adapting to change that require no computers at all. Our courses can also help you learn how to maximize the technology resources you do have in your classroom and school.
Do you have programs for students too?
We offer many opportunities for students. Individuals can sign up to take our ACT/SAT prep class at our Morgantown facility. You can talk to your school to see if they would be interested in hosting a “Student Leadership Seminar” and you can check our web site regularly to see how and when you can participate in various camps and programs on topics ranging from web design to biometrics.
