Data Retreats

The EdVenture Group is pleased to offer Data Retreats, a unique and valuable professional development opportunity for schools and districts to assist in the new climate of accountability and data-driven decision making.

Data Retreats, two-day leadership institutes, help focus on the important data gathered and create the strategies to help improve schools and districts. A Data Retreat is a customized training opportunity in which district and school teams work together to analyze their data, develop hypotheses, and ultimately leave with a meaningful school improvement plan.

It provides training that is:

• Relevant, since educators work with their own data.
• Collaborative, since educators work in teams.
• Reflective, since educators have time to study and find insight.

A Data Retreat guides you through the discovery and analysis of four types of school data:

•Student achievement
• Demographic
• Program
• Perception

The Data Retreat Participant's Guide presents the major guiding questions, worksheets, and tables used during the sessions and is provided to all participants.

The EdVenture Group has four trained Data Retreat facilitators on staff. Intensive training was conducted in December 2005 by Learning Point Associates, a subsidiary of the North Central Regional Educational Laboratory. The EdVenture Group is able to utilize and extend its extensive experience in the school improvement process, strategic planning and technology plan development through these Data Retreats.
