Critical Think is designed to provide participants with the opportunity to develop unique teaching methods and strategies as they relate to critical thinking and problem-solving. The course focus is on helping teachers develop lesson plans in which students learn to think critically, analyze information, comprehend new ideas, and solve problems.

Problem Solved provides participants with the opportunity to develop unique teaching methods and strategies as they relate to Problem-Solving. The focus is on helping students learn to think strategically, analyze information and solve problems by integrating new strategies into current lesson plans and teaching methods.

 

Want to feel challenged and inspired while creating and collecting resources for your classroom?

This three part series is designed to help educators integrate life skills, focusing on health and wellness issues, responsibility, teamwork, and leadership, into their teaching strategies and methods. The instruction provides educators with techniques, activities, and resources that enable them to infuse life skills into any content or lesson plan.

Skills For Life - focuses on skills that center around self-care and personal responsibility.

Fit for Life - focuses on health and wellness awareness issues.

Lead for Life - focuses on outer directed skills such as teamwork, leadership and ethics.

 

Overdraft! Over budget! Over their heads?

Integrating Financial Literacy is designed to introduce educators and their students to Financial and Economic Literacy. Topics are addressed as they relate to a student's ability to understand the role of finance in the economy and how civics applies to each of these areas.  Participants will discover how to integrate these 21st Century Skills into their classroom content areas through real-world applications.

 

Open for Business:  Inspiring Future Entrepreneurs

Business Sense addresses topics as they relate to a student's ability to understand the role of business in the economy and how entrepreneurial skills can be taught in the classroom.  Participants will gain strategies to integrate these 21st Century Skills into their classroom content areas through active student engagement.

 

Integrating current global issues in your classroom: easier done than said!  What?

Get Global will familiarize educators with the issues and skills students need in order to be successful global citizens.  The course will integrate current global issues, as well as the framework for 21st Century learning in order to provide teachers with the tools and resources essential to promoting globally aware students capable of competing in a global society.

 

Actions speak louder than words.

A continuation of Get Global this course will extend and build upon the skills presented by adding a more action oriented approach.  This course will allow educators to study examples and create their own examples of social responsibility and civic literacy in the context of global awareness.  Act Global will also give educators the opportunity to design social learning experiences that they will take back to their classrooms for integration into existing curricula.

These courses may be taken for a variety of educational offerings including graduate credit, CEUs and staff development.
