Our goal is to introduce educators to the field of biometrics, its benefits to society, and the increasing career opportunities in the biometrics industry for students.
Teachers and guidance counselors will become familiar with the biometric industry and the educational applications through interaction with industry leaders in the field of biometrics, participation in field trips to area biometric businesses, creation of lesson plans integrating biometrics, and through engagement in real world activities utilizing biometrics.
Students will develop a general awareness of biometrics and its career opportunities in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields. Finally, business leaders and educators will work collaboratively to promote 21st Century Skills and improve STEM literacy among students, parents and community members in the region.
